2010
Family Vision's "Freedom Project" aims to provide children of women prisoners opportunities to build successful and happy lives by giving them emotional, educational and community support till they reach adulthood.One of the components of this Project is called "Skills for Life". As part of the same 15 teenagers were invited to Select CITYWALK for a workshop on same and were also provided for lunch during this duration.
On the eve of World AIDS Orphans Day FXB Suraksha orgnaized "The Call for Support" event at the Plaza, Select CITYWALK to spread awareness on the issues faced by the children who are prone to AIDS or who have lost their parents to AIDS. The event was attended by Gul Panag, French Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont and MP and Hon. Minsiter of State,Ministry of Rural Development,Ms Agatha Sangma and was hosted by Nasir Abdullah.The event used the mode of an insightful and contemporary dance drama to spread the message across.
Every Weekend is a feel good weekend as CITYWALK offers prime space in its open plaza to the NGO People for Animals which is a platform to adopt homeless puppies.
Every Wednesday the signature brand of Select CITYWALK Flea@Nite hosts stalls of NGOs like the Delhi Cheshire Home, Literacy India, SPCA, AAHWAN etc to enable them raise funds for their respective causes.
"On the occasion of World Earth Day about 450 children belonging to various NGO's
and schools across Delhi were invited to a free movie screening at PVR followed by musical and dance performancves organized by them to spread awareness on
Global Warming. These children also visisted the stores at Select CITYWALK and spread the message through the distribution of tent cards and hand made papaer bags."
Select CITYWALK joined the global brand Taylormade to place clothes donation boxes at various points at Select CITYWALK to help the underprivileged.
Select CITYWALK circulated info on "Prevent Cervical Cancer with regular screenings / HPV" to all its women customers as part of CSR Initiative.
"The Equal Opportunity Programme is an ongoing programme by Family Vision which provides equal recreational and educational opportunities to underprivileged children. 22 children from the Bawana slum area between the ages of 8 and 12years were invited to Select CITYWALK to indluge in various art and craft and other educational activities along with lunch."
8-16th April 2010 – Select CITYWALK joined hands with the popular NGO – KHOJ to bring to the City a unique exhibition – In Context: Public Art, Ecology. This exhibition bought to the fore, outstanding artworks by artists from America, Austria, Germany and India to create awareness on ecological issues like- recycling, environmental friendliness, pollution, and the propaganda of the "self propelled cycle rickshaw".
January 2010 - An exclusive exhibition cum Camp together with WWF (World Wide fund) showcasing their journey since the days of Smt Indira Gandhi & Lord Mountbatten, their commendable projects & works done to save Animals globally. The platform attracted many citizens to join the charter as Ambassadors.
2009
14th November: An outstanding celebration of Jawahar Lal Nehru's birthday – the Childrens Day was celebrated with a lot of love & passion. A fun filled day with a host of rides, activities and events for children – All Free of cost, everyone was welcome.
24-26 October: Awareness of a Woman's Health was the principle underlying the Breast Cancer Awareness camp in association with the Fortis Group of Hospitals.
3rd & 4th October: an exhibition showcasing the golden principles of ‘Gandhigiri' – The esteemed Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
22-27 September: The annual Yoga camp was organized to educate people from across the neighborhood on the benefits & power of Yoga as an effective means of holistic healing.
12-18 September: Another campaign with RED Earth, this time making the Indian citizen aware of the hazards of Drunken driving. It emanated the message of safe responsible driving through a series of art installations by renowned artists & designers.
Monsoon celebrated in all its glory with the Environment protection NGO – Red Earth, taught little children the age old tradition of boat & kite making with recycled paper using environment friendly colours.
Valaya Magic Foundation is an initiative to help support the cause of the Indian Girl child. Select CITYWALK has given away 150 sq ft of area to Magic Foundation within its Retail area. The NGO sells hand made products made by the girl child and the money generated is being used for the upliftment of the Girl Child.
15th - 16th July: 'The Clothes Mountain' at Select CITYWALK in association with PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS, bought together apparel donated by export houses, sold to shoppers to raise funds for their cause.
Select CITYWALK supports various NGO's to sell their products, literature and concept at the Flea Market which is held every Wednesday. The NGO's are – Delhi Cheshire Home, Literacy India, AAHWAN, SPCA, People for Animals, Devotion, Khushii. These NGO's sell their products to support their organization.
Select CITYWALK played host to a group of 30 children from an Orphanage in Goa on May 3, 2009. The children saw a movie at PVR Cinemas & a special magic show, participated in activities like t-shirt painting, pottery on the Kids Fountain Terrace & enjoyed joy rides in the Kids Play Area. This was followed by a dinner at the Food Court and personal gifts were given to all of them.
The Body Shop and MTV Networks International launched the new worldwide "Yes Yes Yes To - Safe Sex" Campaign on 17th April at Select CITYWALK to create awareness about HIV AIDS, promote safe sex and to raise funds to support the Staying Alive Foundation, a charity with a mission to save lives by empowering young people around the world to protect themselves and their communities against HIV and AIDS.
Jai Ho! -"No Criminals in Parliament" A Campaign on Canvas By Art Maestros Vishal Joshi and Ravi Shankar was held at Central atrium, Select CITYWALK from 24th-26th April 2009 to Unite the Capital to Pledge Not to Vote for Any Political Candidate with a Criminal Background.
8th March: CITYWALK partnered with the prestigious Polka Art Gallery to 'SAY NO TO CRIMINALS!' -An exclusive exhibition of Art paintings & installations alerting every 'voting citizen,' not to vote for a politician with a criminal record. A unique way of making the Indian citizens aware of their rights & responsibilities.
Republic Day (Jan 26, 2009) was based on the Theme – "Bapu's Dream of a Peaceful World". Highlights of the event were –
An Art Exhibition- "Expressions" by an NGO – Empowerment which showcased works by children based on the Theme – Bapu's Dream of a Peaceful World.
A Painting Festival for underprivileged children from the NGO's Chintan, Valaya Magic Foundation for the Girl Child, Literacy India, Delhi Cheshire Home, Empowerment, Society for Child Development, Sruti Foundation, Salaam Baalak Trust.
Exhibition cum sale of handcrafted products by NGO's to generate funds for their respective projects.
2008
Event termed as "Lets Just Play" (September 27, 2008), a joint initiative with Nickelodeon channel was organized at Select CITYWALK to encourage children to engage in active, healthy and playful outdoor lifestyles.
National Cancer Rose Day (September 22, 2008) was celebrated with children from Cancer Patients Aid Association along with celebrities like Sushma Seth, Geetika Ganju etc. Movie screening was organized at PVR followed by tea party in the evening.
Independence Day (August 15, 2008) was celebrated in support of a greener environment and children from Vallaya Magic Foundation were called and tree plantation was done.
In support of Vallaya Magic Foundation, Cancer Patients Aid Association, and Chintan Trust (July 31, 2008), World Kids International Film Festival was hosted at PVR - Select CITYWALK where children from all these associations were called for a movie screening along with refreshments.
Created awareness about AIDS (April 16, 2008) in the Shopping Centre through a parade & Collaterals in association with MTV & The Body Shop.
Organised Free Health & Yogic Mediatation Camp (April 14-19, 2008) to promote good health vide Yoga & Meditation.
Associated and supported the Ministry of Women and Child Development March 3-16, 2008) to create awareness about topical issues such as Women's Health, Breast Cancer etc.
Worked with SOS Care foundation March 2008) to create awareness for the cause, by giving free space for selling of merchandize to NGO's working for the underprivileged.
Republic Day (Jan 26, 2008) was celebrated with children from Armaan Foundation. A special afternoon was organized for these children that included a viewing of the film Taare Zameen Par, Painting festival, Gifts and Refreshments.
Works closely with Chintan, an NGO that supports street children by being environmentally responsive towards waste management.
