Ride out a Hangover with Select CITYWALK’s Finest!
Glamorous late nights and guilt-free indulgence is fun; dehydrated and blotchy skin is not. A great night out may not always have the best after-taste, the morning after can often be cruel. Why hide in the bed all day, when you can conquer the world by recovering well and looking fabulous? Here are a few expert tips and tricks to help you look like you’ve had your eight hours!
Rise And Shine
Before you even think about makeup, it’s important to spend time making sure your skin is in order, to make you look (and feel) better and brighter. Keep some damp muslin cloths in the fridge and wipe your face with them in the morning to get rid of puffiness. Or even better, if you have five minutes to spare, apply a face mask – you can try the Innisfree Real Squeeze Mask.
When it comes to moisturising, be careful not to go overboard – even though your skin may feel dehydrated – or you’ll just end up looking greasy. Instead, try a light illuminating vitamin E cream to perk up tired skin. The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream contains vitamin E oil that brightens dull complexion, and has a soft-pink tint to give your skin a subtle glow. That moisturizing cream has all the magic you need!
Less Is More
Don’t be tempted to pile on makeup. Use your M.A.C Foundation sparingly, where you need to even out skin – try the M.A.C Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation. For under-eye circles, use Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer on dark patches to lift your eyes. Cream blush looks most natural – try the Clinique Chubby Stick Colour Balm. To make your eyes look as bright as possible, avoid kohl – just curl the lashes before applying mascara.
Your Secret Weapons
Use a neutral colour pencil to tone down those red eyes (run it along the bottom inner rim to brighten). Unlike white liners, it looks natural. For the lips, rub balm all over with a cotton bud to gently exfoliate and nourish, before starting your makeup. Lips are the first place dehydration strikes, so avoid matte textures and go for a tinted balm – apricots and pinks are good for adding colour without going overboard. You’ll look as fresh as the morning dew – and who’s to know otherwise?
